Due to the awesome three day music festival surrounding my building dowtown, the HSO closed our offices on Friday. Hooray for a three day weekend, right? I started my long weekend with a trip to the doctor. I assumed I'd be getting some antibiotics for a persistant swollen lymph node under my right arm. Round one and round two of antibiotics worked well, but I still had a bit of a lump. The doctors decision...re-freakin'-move my lymph nodes. What!? I didn't even know you could do that. What are the repercussions of missing lymph nodes? Apparently none since you have bunches of them in each location. Needless to say I was unprepared for the surgery and a bit shaken up (translation, I cried like a little baby and couldn't stop shaking the entire time). I ended up with a few stitches and prescriptions for painkillers and the antibiotics I had hoped for in the first place. (Side note: codine and alcohol is a trippy feeling, my friend)

Despite a rather large bandage/dressing under my arm George and I continued our original plans to attend Big Spring Jam. It was AWESOME. The first night we were just 15 feet away from STYX. They were amazing live...the best act of the entire weekend. I would've spent the $45 (cost of a 3 day pass) just to see them. Unfortunately with such a great opening night, the rest of the weekend wasn't quite as amazing. We still had a great time seeing Kansas, Tantric, .38 Special, The Guess Who and Three Dog Night...but nothing compares to the mind blowing amazingness that was STYX. I was a bit disappointed in Three Dog Night. They looked like they could fall over at any minute. I hope someone had an oxygen tank on stand by! Conclusion: $45 well spent
