| | As George has yet to tire of mentioning, I do indeed have better news than my last post. Most people are already aware, but in case you missed the memo, George and I are now engaged! About 8 months ago I gave George photos of ring styles that I like and dislike to help him search for a ring. He wanted explanations and examples, very nerd-like! Well, he managed to find the site online of the photo I had marked as my favorite, contacted the designer and drove 2 hrs to Nashville to purchase the ring!
The day of my birthday while I was on the phone with my little brother, George called my father and asked for permission. My dad happened to be driving at the time, couldn't understand George and told him he had the wrong number. George managed to get his point across, my dad gave his permission and thus the awkward conversation (because my father is socially inept) was concluded.
That night we went to The Jazz Factory in Huntsville, this fabulous old restaurant with live Jazz and great food. The wine was amazing, the food was spectacular and the atmosphere was awesome. It felt like we were in the 20s! Afterward we took a stroll through the park downtown and ended up next to the waterfall. George got down on one knee, asked me to marry him and I said yes!
I'd include a photo, but I am on the wrong computer and they are readily available on Facebook anyway! The wedding won't be for at least 2 years, most likely longer, so don't stress if you don't get an invite soon
